Plan B Aesthetics & Skincare

Increase facial harmony to reduce the appearance of facial irregularities

Profile balancing treatment can harmonise and enhance the overall appearance of a person’s facial profile. This treatment involves the strategic injection of dermal fillers into specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks, chin, jawline, and nose, to create a more balanced and symmetrical look. By adding volume and contour where needed, this treatment can solve include a weak or recessed chin, flat or asymmetrical cheeks, a less defined jawline, and minor irregularities in the nose shape.

There will be a 30-60 minute consultation before any treatment can take place. This will allow Dr Rachel to thoroughly assess your individual features, skin type, and any specific concerns you may have. It will help her to identify the most suitable techniques and products, ensuring optimal results and draw up an appropriate treatment plan. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and gain a clear understanding of the procedure, potential outcomes, and any associated risks.

Frequently asked questions

Ideal candidates are individuals who have good skin quality and overall health but have experienced volume loss due to aging or other factors. Additionally, those looking to improve their facial profile by enhancing cheekbones, jawlines, or correcting asymmetry, can benefit significantly from dermal fillers. Factors such as skin condition, medical history, and specific aesthetic goals will be evaluated to ensure the best outcomes and minimise all risks.

Generally, it takes about 14 days for the full effects to become apparent. During this period, any initial swelling and minor bruising should subside, allowing the filler to integrate smoothly with the surrounding tissues. This process gives the treated areas a more natural and enhanced appearance.

Results should last between 6 to 12 months. This duration can vary depending on several factors, including the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual differences in metabolism and lifestyle. Regular follow-up appointments can help assess the need for touch-ups and ensure that your appearance remains balanced and natural-looking.

The discomfort experienced during a profile-balancing procedure is usually minimal. However, a topical anaesthetic cream can be applied beforehand to numb the treatment area and significantly reduce any sensations of pain.

Dermal fillers, which are usually made of hyaluronic acid, are injected under the skin, where additional volume is needed. The molecules soak up water and create a cushioning effect, adding the required volume and contour to the targeted areas. Over time, the body gradually absorbs the fillers, and touch-up treatments may be required to maintain the results.

2. Your Treatment

The area to be treated is thoroughly cleansed and often numbed using a topical anaesthetic cream to minimise discomfort. Next, Dr Rachel will use a fine needle or cannula to inject the chosen dermal filler into specific areas of the face. Throughout the procedure, Dr Rachel may gently massage the treated areas to ensure even distribution of the filler. After the injections are complete, you should see immediate results. Any swelling or bruising should subside within a few days.

3. Your Aftercare

You’ll be advised to avoid gym activities and saunas for at least 48 hours post-treatment. The increased blood flow and heat exposure from these activities can exacerbate swelling and bruising. Additionally, you should refrain from consuming aspirin or alcohol for the same period. Aspirin can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising, while alcohol can also enhance swelling and slow the healing process.
