Polynucleotides

Plan B Aesthetics & Skincare

Remove crepey skin for a younger look

Polynucleotides treatment is suitable for people who are looking to improve the appearance of their skin and stimulate collagen production. It is especially beneficial for those whose skin is displaying signs of ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging. It’s particularly ideal for tackling the fine lines and crepey skin around the eyes, the neck, or the decolletage.

During your polynucleotides consultation, you can expect a thorough examination and discussion with Dr Rachel. She will want to understand your specific skin concerns and goals to ensure polynucleotides is suitable for you, and that you’ll get the best outcome. Dr Rachel will then explain the procedure, risks, and benefits associated with this treatment, before taking photos and discussing alternative treatments and your consent.

Frequently asked questions

Polynucleotides treatment involves the use of naturally occurring DNA fragments to stimulate skin regeneration and repair. This treatment promotes collagen production, which is essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. It can help you achieve a more youthful complexion with reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

Due to the high number of injections required to administer the product, and the nature of the product, the procedure can deliver a ‘stingy’ feeling like multiple bee stings when you’re having your treatment.  However, it’s not expected to cause you prolonged discomfort. Topical anaesthetic cream can be applied on request, but it’s not usually needed.

The results aren’t immediate, but you should begin to notice improvements in your skin quality and luminosity within a few weeks of starting the treatment. Your results should then improve further after a few months, as new collagen and elastin is formed.

Optimal results are achieved via a course of treatment. Once Dr Rachel has examined your skin, she’ll be able to advise you on how many sessions you may need, and how weeks apart they should be spaced.

You will have a consultation to assess your suitability before any treatment can take place, but most people can have polynucleotides. Those who perhaps can’t are individuals with bleeding disorders, patients who are prone to abnormal scarring, pregnant women, and patients with weakened immune systems.

your journey

1. Your Consultation

Dr Rachel will examine your skin and evaluate your suitability for polynucleotides treatment during a 30-60 minute consultation before you have any treatment. If an alternative therapy can better help you achieve your goals, she will discuss it with you. Otherwise you’ll be given all the information you need, photos will be taken, and consent will be requested to move on to the next stage.

She will then give you aftercare guidance to ensure you achieve optimal results, while reducing the impact of any possible side effects.
