Skin boosters

Plan B Aesthetics & Skincare

Don’t let your age define your skin’s vitality

Skin booster injections are a type of cosmetic treatment that involve injecting hyaluronic acid-based products into the skin. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body and helps to maintain moisture and elasticity in the skin. These injections can help to solve a variety of skin problems, such as dryness, dullness, and fine lines. They work by providing deep hydration to the skin, improving its texture and overall appearance.

Dr Rachel will ask you about your medical history, skin concerns, and desired outcomes. This will help her understand your specific needs and determine if skin boosters are the right treatment for you. She will examine your skin, looking for areas of dehydration, dullness, or fine lines. She’ll take photos, request your consent, or discuss alternatives with you, and then draw up a treatment plan.

Frequently asked questions

When injected into the skin, a key ingredient of skin boosters, hyaluronic acid, helps to hydrate and plump the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and improving overall skin texture. The treatment also stimulates collagen production, which further enhances skin elasticity and firmness.

Skin boosters involve the injection of hyaluronic acid and other substances into the skin to hydrate and rejuvenate it. Some individuals may experience mild discomfort during the procedure, such as a slight stinging or prickling sensation. However, most patients find the pain to be minimal and tolerable. The use of a topical numbing creams can help minimise any discomfort, but it’s rarely needed.

It’s important to understand that while you won’t see immediate changes, the quality and luminosity of your skin will gradually improve over the coming weeks and months. This is because new collagen and elastin are being formed. They are essential components for maintaining youthful and healthy skin. Patients with deep static wrinkles, or deep acne scars, will see less improvement. However, with repeated courses of treatment, plus other skin treatments, they should still see a benefit.

The duration of results for skin boosters can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. To maintain the results for longer, Dr Rachel may advise you to undergo regular maintenance treatments.

A course of 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is common, but Dr Rachel will be able to advise you and draw up a bespoke treatment plan for you when she meets you for your consultation.
